The European e-Justice Portal is a major and important project within the European Union’s e-Justice initiative, planned to be in place by the end of 2009.
EULIS welcomed co-operation with Slovenia and Latvia by adding a profile about their land registry organisations to the EULIS website.
The Property Registration Authority (PRA) in partnership with the Law Society and Irish Mortgage Council has developed a new online system which will enable lending institutions to request the cancellation of registered charges by electronic means without the need to submit any paper to the PRA. The new system – known as eDischarges – will be more secure, efficient and transparent than the existing process and will eliminate many of the inefficiencies and delays currently experienced when mortgages have been redeemed.
EULIS invites all European countries to get involved with EULIS and display a Country Profile for their land registry organisation.
The European Land Information Service (EULIS) is the first and only service to offer direct access to cross-border official land registration information. EULIS is owned by a consortium of ten European land registry organisations, most of which are government departments.
The website aims to raise awareness by explaining the service through new innovative web tools.
